Alden + Andrew

When your bride is someone you already admire for her tailored style, elevated taste, and dedication to philanthropy and friendships equally… well, you just know it’s going to be a very special wedding,
Alden and Andrew’s celebration was thoughtful, joyful, and intentionally personalized throughout. Hosted at the historic Taylor-Grady House, the venue reflected the bride’s affiliation with the long-standing Junior League of Athens, which recently received recognition for its stewardship of the grand house.

Beautifully captured by Amanda Olivia Photography, this day is one full of an abundance of style, classic grace, dreamy florals, and (our favorite) love, laughter, and gratitude for the true meaning of the occasion; a marriage between two very in love, very special friends. Mazel Tov, Shmerlings!

We always love working at the Taylor-Grady House - it feels like home to us, and it is always exciting to create designs that go the extra mile in personalizing each couple’s day there. With the floral talents of Brett Glenn and team of European Floral Design, we knew we had perfect partners in creating decorative elements that were unique to this couple and true to their personal aesthetics as well. They’re a classy duo. We’re into that. This wedding proves that classic is anything but boring.

Perfect spring weather meant that that every budding branch was showing off, and the Euro Floral ladies foraged blooming dogwood branches, which made our hearts go pitter-patter. Family heirlooms were incorporated throughout the day, including this precious ring bearer pillow from Alden’s parents’ wedding. Stunning hellebores, berries, and bridesmaid bouquets of sweet peas perfectly pulled in the early spring season. Custom bar fronts in front of the dovecoat building made for a very curated cocktail experience.

Before we go any further, we must all take a moment to appreciate this gorgeous bride. Alden, you’re the definition of wedding day perfection.

No wedding day is complete without the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Another special round of thank-you’s to this extra-attentive group of attendants. You were each so invested in making sure your friend’s day was perfect. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

The ceremony featured a custom draped chuppah with the loveliest floral swag adornment. Cafe umbrellas stood sentry to protect guests from the sun, and another family heirloom appeared in the form of the flower girl’s dress - the same one worn in Alden’s parents’ wedding!

Guests were offered passed champagne upon arriving to the ceremony, yarmulkes personalized with the wedding day details, and the double-officiant ceremony went beautifully, combining these two families’ religions and traditions in the most special way.

The ginko leaf (the official tree of Athens) made another appearance on the gilded menus. Beneath a clear-top tent with custom draping and glass-shaded chandeliers, guests were seated at tables swathed in La Tavola linens, and were offered delicious food from Home.made, one of our most favorite Athens restaurants. Artfully placed florals graced the cake from Sweetie Pie by Savie, who always provides such a deliciously sweet ending to the wedding feast!

Did we hear someone ask for more of that monogram? Okay, we’ll oblige. In the form of gold embroidery on velvet pillows. We’re actually jealous of them! The swanky lounge area is perfectly completed by this twist on a traditional monogram, and are an item the bride and groom can continue to use in their home, which we love. The lounge area also set the stage for the toast from the c0-ladies-of-honor, which was equally sweet and hysterical.
Can we get a quick round of applause for the mother and father of the bride? They are the actual BEST people, and it’s so easy to see where Alden gets her drive, commitment, and kindness. D + V, we love y’all!

Thank you, Alden and Andrew, for allowing us the honor of witnessing your marriage - it was genuinely our pleasure to build a wedding around what is going to grow into an even more beautiful life together. Sending blessings your way always!
