Old World Meets Modern Romance | Berry College

as published in Magnolia Rouge

When the talented and lovely photographer Hannah Forsberg asked if we’d like to collaborate on a styled shoot at Berry College, there was no hesitation to saying yes. Though there are only about 2000 students, Berry College gets to boast that they have the country’s largest campus - over 27,000 acres! Our focus on shoot day, though, was the college’s main attraction, Ford Castle. With its breathtaking architecture, reflection pools, and lush greenery, it looks like anything but a college campus!

For this shoot, we went for a sleek, modern look with natural greenery, eclectic florals, and a more masculine warmth brought in through the rich browns in the tableware and subtle metallic touches throughout.

Our models for the shoot were Erin and Joe Ryser, a real-life couple who happen to be gorgeous and wiling to be all kinds of lovey-dovey for us. And they brought along a special guest…

Their sweet doggo, Pence, who was a behind-the-scenes cuddle buddy and is welcome at every shoot and wedding we do forever and ever amen. We like him a little bit.

Paper goods created by Kate Turner Studio included a custom line drawing of Ford Castle, white calligraphy, and just a hint of mustard yellow. And the modern, yet timeless, florals from Ginger Rose quite literally took our breath away.

This stunning gown from Carol Hannah featured a draped back that looked like it was made for Erin without a single alteration. Erin, who is an extremely talented hair and makeup artist, did her own MUAH for the day, and it was spot on for romance. For the record, we are always Team Forehead Kisses.

Thank you Erin, Joe, and Pence for being such beautiful models for us, we can’t wait to see all three of you (okay, mostly Pence) again soon!
