Real Wedding | Wenjie + Futhum
Contemporary & Elegant Museum Wedding
When old friends from high school reached out after their engagement, asking me to be a part of their special day, I was SO EXCITED, you guys! Wenjie and Futhum were high school sweethearts, and now they were ready to bring their Chinese and Eritrean families together in the most sacred of ways. I always welcome a challenge, especially when two people have such great taste and are super fun to boot. They decided on The Fernbank Museum of Natural History, and it is truly a one of a kind venue where guests can dine with the dinosaurs - no, really!
We think this 'marriage of cultures' was a blast, and while we might be biased, we think it turned out pretty darn well too. See the feature on Southern Weddings, and scroll down for some of our favorite shots from this special day.

A first look, before the ceremony, is an intimate time for the bride and groom. While we assist in setting it up, we always leave it to the photographer to capture these moments, and we were eager to see these two and Futhum's reaction once we got the images back from Leilani at Elle Golden Photography. How sweet are they?!
The groom's niece and nephew played the roles of ring bearer and flower girl, but they were just the cutest wedding guests in the end. Who doesn't love a delicate floral crown and tiny suspenders adorned with a junior boutonniere?!
Of course food is important to any reception, but especially these two. We had a blast with Bold American Catering doing custom tastings, and they were so open to creating customary dishes for Wenjie and Futhum to try, in order to fully immerse their guests into the cultural experience.
