Erin + Josh | St. Simons Island, Georgia

Timeless Enchantment on the Georgia Coast

From the first call with Erin + Josh, we knew their wedding was going to be extra special for us. Between the shared love and respect these two have for each other, the love emanating from their families, and the commitment of their friends to seeing these two tie the knot, we were honored from the start to be part of this special bond. Getting to know our couples and their families is what makes each wedding special for US - it’s all the time together leading up to the big day learning about how they interact with each other, their opinions on everything from sports to the weather, shades of blue and green, and making inside jokes that last for years; those are the moments that we remember and that get us teary-eyed when we walk our brides to the aisle.

Those are the kinds of moments we just knew we’d have with Erin, Josh, and their wonderful entourage. And, after learning they had chosen St. Simons Island for their wedding weekend, we were even more excited to pack our bags! Destination weddings are our absolute favorites, and knowing we’d be meeting up and working with this group of amazing people made the miles fly by.

We know we get a little emotional when we talk about our couples and their families, but that’s just who we are. We’re going to be your advocates, your counselors, your best friends, and your trusted advisors. And we’re going to miss you so when it’s all over (which is why we will always be your #1 on Instagram and Snapchat, forever and ever, amen)!

It’s couples like this, though, and families like theirs, and working with teams of talented vendors who understand how truly special weddings like this one are, that make a wedding weekend one we will never forget. Come along for the beauty that happens when a bride has complete trust in her planners, a clear vision and kind heart, and is surrounded by family, friends, and a fiancee who all admire her as much as we do. Erin, we’re so excited to share your wedding!

Erin + Josh’s rehearsal dinner took place beneath the historic St. Simons Island Lighthouse, with a local trio of musicians delicious food from Southern Soul BBQ, and a groom’s cake from a super-talented local baker. Cafe lights and mismatched picnic tables and rounds completed the casual, outdoor occasion. It’s impossible not to have fun when you’re on island time.

One of our very favorite stationers, Jessica of Whimsy B. Paperie, created custom watercolor save the dates, and a wedding suite in classic hunter green with a bespoke crest that we also used on welcome box stickers and cocktail napkins. We’re obsessed with the groom’s details - cufflinks from The Masters (A Tradition Unlike Any Other!), and an all-white Brackish Bowtie made Josh the best-dressed man of the night.

Before the first look and ceremony, the bride and groom each dressed with their parties, and had a terrific time doing so. Maybe the guys had a different kind of fun, but the ladies were dressed to the nines and ready for their closeups.

And now, our ode to parents. Mr. and Mrs. Moore, you’re an amazing pair. Throughout the planning process, you were wholly focused on what would make Erin happy, what would honor her marriage to Josh, and what would show your guests your gratitude that they would bear witness to your daughter’s union. May we all know the joy and laughter you two share in your marriage together, and admire each other and our children the way you do. Thank you for your confidence and your friendship - we count ourselves lucky to have spent so much time with you!

For their first look, Erin + Josh met at the Avenue of the Oaks, under Live Oak trees hundreds of years old, draped in Spanish Moss. The St. Simons Trolley, the only way to travel on the island, transported the whole bridal party for pictures in the dappled sunlight, and then it was on to the ceremony!

The Greenhouse was the perfect backdrop for Erin’s vision - fresh, green, clean, and unfussy. Erin does everything with grace (and a big smile!), so there was no doubt her day would come together beautifully. With streamlined florals abundant greenery, and a modern-industrial space with architectural details, the nearly brand-new venue was a dream.

Erin’s signage incorporated greenery, modern clean lines, and wooden touches throughout. The seating chart was a inspired by Erin + Josh’s travels, and placing ‘love locks’ on bridges in Europe. Delicate florals from Vine Garden Market included a greenery-draped chandelier and compotes with blooms.

And then, under the stars, under the oaks, Erin + Josh danced the night away. And they departed to the tune of the Atlanta Chop (complete with custom foam tomahawks). And all was right with the world.

Mr. and Mrs. Duke, we’re your biggest fans. Keep laughing and loving together. Keep choppin’. WE love you!
