Georgian Hall Black Tie | Athens, GA Styled Shoot

Here at Whitewood Events, styled shoots are a way of life. They are the best way we know to get our creative juices flowing, think outside of every box we’ve ever seen, interact with the most talented and kindest creative vendors in the industry, and create content meant to inspire current and future clients (and each other!). There is never a shoot that turns out exactly as originally planned, there are always hiccups, and sometimes we end up too sweaty and overheated to be in any behind-the-scenes shots! But they are always gratifying, they always push our creative boundaries, and they always allow us to meet new vendors and bond over the art of creating together in real time.

Something else that is a big part of the Whitewood life is sharing knowledge and experiences with up-and-coming creatives. We are always on the lookout for anyone eager to learn about weddings and events. Allowing our assistant planners and designers to create their own styled shoots is the best way we know (other than working day-of weddings alongside us!) to give these talented ladies their own outlets for creativity, teach them how to work with vendors, create color palettes, gather and disseminate timeline information, learn the secret ways of the flat lay, and feel the joy of watching every intentionally sourced element come together after months of work.

Former assistant planner and current real-life creative, Erica, designed a styled shoot at The Georgian Hall in downtown Athens, Georgia that blew us all away. Erica’s talents extend to beautiful, intuitive floral design, and she executed all of the shoot’s floral elements flawlessly. Scroll through for some truly unexpected elements, a classic palette used in modern ways, and collaborations from our friends and vendors that show off what this community is all about - making beautiful things for YOU, our clients and followers!

One of the additional purposes of styled shoots, and of creating this content, is to have each masterpiece published in recognition of the teamwork involved in each shoot, and to be able to publicly acknowledge and celebrate each contribution. This shoot was, to our excitement, picked up by The Celebration Society for publication and we remain pleased as punch that they were able to showcase Erica’s work!
